Question 1 of 6Free · about 3 minutes

Where does your Polish family connection begin?

Choose the closest ancestor you know about. A family connection is a starting point; it does not by itself prove citizenship.

Choose an answer to continue. You can go back and change it.

Our method

Polish ancestry is the starting point. The family line is what matters.

Having a Polish parent, grandparent or great-grandparent is the starting point. What matters is whether citizenship continued through each generation under the law in force at the time.

We map the family line, flag the historical events that need review and identify the records needed to support a case. The Polish authorities make the official citizenship decision.

  • The family line

Who held Polish citizenship and how each generation connects to the next.

  • Key historical events

Naturalisation, military service and other events that may matter under the law applicable at the time.

  • The evidence

Which Polish and foreign records prove the family line, what is missing and what needs to be obtained.

You can start with what you know. Missing documents are a question to investigate.

How it works

One step at a time. A clear decision before you commit.

You do not need a complete archive or a finished family tree to begin.

  1. Start with the free pre-check

Answer a few questions. Get a qualified next step and save your summary without giving us your email.

  2. Get an initial human screen

Share your summary by email if you choose. We check whether the £95 Case Map is an appropriate next step before asking you to pay.

  3. Receive your £95 Case Map

A human-reviewed family line, issues, evidence checklist and action plan. You can use it independently or continue with us.

  4. Prepare the confirmation case

Proceed under an agreed scope and fee. We organise documents, prepare the Polish application and clarify filing and follow-up arrangements. The authority decides the outcome.

Historical context

A family journey rarely fits inside today’s borders.

The way a Polish family reached Britain shapes which records survive and where to find them.

  1. 1939–1947

Service with the Polish Armed Forces in the West

Service and resettlement files may help establish identity, dates and the family’s circumstances. The exact formation and service history need review.

  2. 1946–1950s

    Post-war resettlement in Britain

Many Polish servicemen and their families settled permanently in Britain. Both Polish records and British naturalisation dates matter for the case.

  3. 1939–1940s

    Deportation and wartime displacement

Families passed through the USSR, the Middle East, Africa or India before settling. Records are often spread across several countries.

  4. Before 1939

Families from the former eastern territories

Lwów, Wilno, Stanisławów and other places once in Poland are now in three neighbouring states — which affects where records may survive. Place of birth alone does not establish citizenship.

Family from Lwów, Wilno or the former eastern territories? Tell us the place names as you know them. The relevant borders, dates and records need careful review.

Frequently asked questions

Useful answers before you start.

Does the pre-check tell me I am a Polish citizen?

No. It suggests a next step from the facts you select. It does not assess every historical rule, verify documents or decide citizenship. Only the competent Polish authorities make the official decision.

My grandparent became British. Is that the end of the line?

That fact alone is not enough to decide. Dates, circumstances and the law in force at the time need review. Select the historical-event option in the pre-check rather than assuming the family line was broken.

I have no Polish documents. Can I still start?

Yes. Start with names, places and approximate dates. Your Case Map identifies the records to look for and possible sources. Finding a record is not guaranteed; any paid research is agreed separately.

My family came from Lwów, Wilno or a place now outside Poland. Can you review it?

Yes. We can begin by mapping the family history and the evidence needed. Borders have changed, and the relevant dates and citizenship history matter more than a modern place name.

Do I need to speak Polish or travel to Poland?

You can work with us in English. The application is prepared in Polish. UK residents can apply through the Polish consular office for their place of residence, in person or by post. Check current official instructions for your filing route.

What exactly am I paying £95 for?

A human-reviewed, six-page Case Map: a considered route, family-line map, issues and gaps, document checklist, action plan, and indicative timing and cost outline. It is a standalone plan, not the application itself or a citizenship decision. We first check whether it is a suitable next step.

Are translations included?

In-house sworn translations required for the agreed Full Application Service package are included. The £95 Case Map is a review and planning document; it does not include the full application or sworn translations. Extra work outside the agreed package is discussed first.

How long does confirmation take?

There is no guaranteed timetable. Document searches, missing facts and requests from the authority can change the duration. The Case Map separates preparation stages from the authority’s processing time and makes its assumptions clear.

Can you guarantee citizenship or a passport?

No. Polish authorities determine citizenship. A passport is a separate process after citizenship is established; we do not apply for an adult passport on your behalf or guarantee its issue.

What if a historical issue needs legal advice?

Our service focuses on case organisation and document preparation. We are not a law firm and do not provide regulated UK immigration advice. A complex citizenship issue, refusal or appeal may need a separate review by a qualified Polish lawyer.

What happens to my pre-check answers?

They stay in this open page. They are not sent to us, stored in a database or saved in your browser. Refreshing clears them. Downloading creates a file on your device. An email enquiry shares only what you choose to send.

Do I have to live in the UK?

The service is designed first for descendants living in the UK. If you live elsewhere, tell us your country of residence so we can screen the case and explain the relevant document and filing arrangements.

Your family story is enough to start.
